For the transatlantic Francesco and his team have assembled a 20 feet catamaran based on a carbon platform.

Safety and Communications Equipment

Security equipments on board are compliant with the international recommendation for offshore sailing (IMO MSC Circ 1174), including a manual seawater desalinator.
They also include the following communications and navigation electronics:

• a COSPAS SARSAT 406Mhz EPIRB beacon,
• a satellite-based real time position tracking device (using GPS and GlobalStar simplex data network at 1.6GHz),
• Iridium telephone.
